Nokia 2.2: Specifications and Features The Nokia 2.2 arrived as a successor to the Nokia 2.1 which was launched back in 2018. The smartphone sports a massive 5.71-inch HD+ display on the front with a teardrop notch and 19:9 aspect ratio. The phone is powered by the MediaTek Helio A22 chipset, coupled with up to 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The phone comes in two variants- 2GB+16GB and 3GB+32GB and both the variants received a price cut today. The phone also has a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 400GB. All the Nokia smartphones launched in 2019 featured a dedicated hardware key for Google Assistant on the left side. Phones like the Nokia 7.2, Nokia 3.2 and Nokia 4.2 all featured the hardware key and the Nokia 2.2 is no exception. As for the cameras, we’re looking at a 13MP single shooter on the back and a 5MP shooter is present on the front. Unlike the Nokia 2.1 which was an Android Go smartphone, the Nokia 2.2 runs full-fledged Android 9 Pie and it’s even part of Android One programme. HMD Global has been delivering monthly security patch updates to the Nokia 2.2. The phone will also get the Android 10 update sometime next year or by the end of 2020. Lastly, the Nokia 2.2 has a 3000mAh battery and the company is promising full-day battery life. The Nokia 2.2 is a dual-SIM smartphone with both the slots offering 4G VoLTE support. Nokia 2.2: Should You Purchase it After the New Price Cut? After the new price cut, the Nokia 2.2’ 2GB+16GB variant is available at Rs 5,999, while the 3GB+32GB variant of the smartphone can be picked up for Rs 6,999. That said, HMD Global did not confirm whether the price cut is a permanent one or a temporary one. The new prices are already effective on Nokia Shop Online, but Flipkart is still the phone at older prices of Rs 6,599 and Rs 7,599. To recall, the launch prices of the Nokia 2.2 were Rs 6,999 and Rs 7,999, respectively. At Rs 5,999, the Nokia 2.2 is a decent buy because the MediaTek Helio A22 chipset delivers reliable day-to-day performance. But the competitors like the Xiaomi Redmi 8A and the Realme C2 feature dual cameras, bigger batteries and faster processors. The Redmi 8A has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 chipset, whereas the Realme C2 is powered by the Helio P22 SoC. The only thing that saves the Nokia 2.2 is the Android One software as the phone receives monthly security patch updates and Android 10 update is also on the cards.
